Roverello – IGT Veneto Chardonnay
In the XIX century our predecessors have gradually prized valuable land out of forest.
This is told by eighteenth-century maps and also by the name of the place: Roverella is the typical Euganean oak.
In fact, the time and the roots have disrupted the rhyolitic rock into sand, gravel and traces of clay. That meager soil is ideal for the slow growth of a grape with a strong character such as the Chardonnay.
The wine is fermented and aged in large oak barrels.
13 % vol.
On Roverello pass, in Faedo. It is the last production of a vineyard dating back to 1988, now explanted.
Sandy soil, rich in texture, resulting from weathering of volcanic rocks rich in mineral elements.
In large oak barrels until bottling in August.
Service and pairing
Serve at 13-15 °C. The exotic fruit is clear, hints of citrus, the structure is solid and there’s a beautiful mineral finish. Definitely to be tried out with stewed eel and lake fish.
