FRAPPATO – PETIT VERDOT
It was an unusual yet ideal habitat the place where we found, and restored to the proper dignity, this Bordeaux “renegade”. A wine of deep character, also thanks to a small contribution of other local grapes.
Petit Verdot 60%, Frappato 40%
13,5 % vol.
Two Guyot trained hectares in contrada Costa di Bisaccia, on a hill of dolomitic origin but with an important presence of sand from the weathering of calcareous tuff, facing northeast at about 300 meters above sea level. Among our vineyards, this is the nearest to the Tyrrhenian Sea and benefits from frequent presence of the breath of the mistral.
Traditional in tanks and oak barrels. It then ages for two years in barrels. Bottling after spontaneous stabilization.
Service and pairing
To be served at about 18°C. Sober yet intense expressions of Mediterranean aromas, red fruits and spices. Its considerable structure calls for equally important foods.
